“TORNWALD CYST”

This is a posterior nasopharyngeal cyst. It is common and benign. It is filled with proteinaceous material that will intermittently discharge its contents, causing halitosis and a bad taste. They rarely become infected.

•  High-attenuation (due to protein content) nasopharyngeal cyst

MRI

•  Thin-walled cyst
•  High signal on T1 and T2 (protein content)
•  No enhancement
