• Non-specific features
• Typically, a cold nodule on radio-iodide scan, may be warm/hot on pertechnetate scan.
• Radioactive iodine can be used for detecting metastases—however, this is no good for anaplastic or medullary types.
• Bone metastases are typically lytic.
