“OPTIC NEURITIS”

In total, 60% of those with optic neuritis go on to have a diagnosis of MS. In this group, 50% will have a lesion on MRI. A total of 70% are unilateral in adults, and 60% are bilateral in children.
MRI

•  Enlarged and enhancing optic nerve
•  Typically hyperintense on T2
•  White matter lesions for MS
