KEY FEATURES

- The bony covering of the SSC is absent in about 10% of the general

population.

- The classic symptom is a noise induced vertigo “Tullio Phenomenon. ” This was originally described in pigeons after a mad scientist drilled holes in their heads.

- Tullio also created a “Pigeon-Rat” by sewing the back of a pigeon to the back of a rat!
